I am looking forward to a great school year with your scholar.

A little about me:

My name is Mrs. Leah Ynostrosa ("Mrs. Y" for short). I am a second year teacher and a proud product of Edgewood ISD myself. I attended Roosevelt Elementary, then went on to Truman Middle School, and graduated in 2007 as Salutatorian from John F. Kennedy High School (GO ROCKETS!).

I started my college experience at Trinity University, then completed my basics at San Antonio College, and graduated in 2016 from The University of the Incarnate Word with a Bachelor's in Business Administration.

I have a one year old daughter (Livia Grace) with another daughter on the way. I love spending time with my family, running my two businesses, reading, drawing, and traveling.

My Philosophy:

I am a firm believer that within every child is an unfathomable amount of potential and that each child is the fabricator of their future. I believe in challenging my students to realize this potential through perseverance, self-confidence, and critical thinking.

To that end, the environment I hope to cultivate is what I call a "Thinking Classroom"; your scholar will continuously be challenged to think outside-the-box, to create, and to grow academically and in their self-confidence.

Sometimes they may come home, complaining that their brain hurts-- please don't be alarmed! The best thing that you can do is to continue to support them and encourage their growth.
